The work of nearly a dozen Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop attendees is featured in the newly released book, You Do You! By Several Sassy Scribes, edited by New York Times’ bestselling author Jen Mann.
“This year has shown us that the future is decidedly female. While raising daughters has perhaps never been simple, it is growing more complex by the day,” describes Mann, author of People I Want to Punch in the Throat: Competitive Crafters, Drop Off Despots, and Other Suburban Scourges as well as several anthologies and short collections.
“In a parenting age that often tells young girls that they are somehow ‘less than,’” Mann said she decided to “assemble a collection of voices to celebrate the girls in our lives.”
You Do You! is the sixth book in the New York Times’ bestselling I Just Want to Pee Alone series, which has tackled a variety of topics since 2012 — including parenthood, relationships and the cult of female perfection — all with a broad range of voices, from the cynical,to the ugly-cry, to the outright hilarious.
