Lisa Smith Molinari writes “The Meat & Potatoes of Life,” a weekly humor column about marriage, parenting and military life. Her work is published in Stars and Stripes, the newspaper for the U.S. Armed Forces, and syndicated to military and civilian publications nationwide. Lisa’s essays have appeared in The Washington Post, Huffington Post, USA Today, World Net Daily, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Providence Journal, Military Spouse Magazine and on her blog.
She is an active member and former president of the National Society of Newspaper Columnists (NSNC). She is most proud of her recent 2018 national first-place award for humor in print publications (under 50,000 circulation) from NSNC. The judge commented, “Molinari has a great grasp of using the small to explain the big. …I just ‘got’ where she was going in her columns and enjoyed the big-hearted humor along the way. ”
Her work has appeared in several anthologies, including two Chicken Soup for the Soul books. She is currently working with Elva Resa Publishing on the 2019 launch of her first book, The Meat & Potatoes of Life — One Mom’s Search for Meaning in the Minutia of the Modern World.
