Bob Eckstein is a New York Times’ bestselling author and award-winning illustrator, writer, New Yorker cartoonist and snowman expert. He’s currently on tour for his latest book, The Illustrated History of the Snowman.
The prolific artist/writer published World’s Greatest Bookstores: 100 Postcards in 2018, and he is editing the 2019 book, The Ultimate Cartoon Book of Book Cartoons, featuring the world’s greatest cartoonists.
His cartoons, op-eds and short stories appear regularly in The New York Times, New York Daily News, MAD magazine, Barron’s, Readers Digest, The Spectator, Prospect and Wall Street Journal, among many others. He was a columnist for the Village Voice, Newsday and TimeOut New York. He has been interviewed for more than 100 TV, radio and magazine segments, including Good Morning America and People magazine.
His work has been exhibited in The Cartoon Art Museum of San Francisco, Smithsonian Institute, The Cartoon Museum of London and in 2018, The Sordoni Art Gallery at Wilkes University.
Eckstein’s cartoons have appeared in “just about every magazine from Cat Fancy and Farmer’s Almanac to every adult magazine, from the smallest to the major ones. Easily in the thousands,” he says. “I would guess about 10,000 pieces as I have been doing regular pieces since I was a teenager 40 years ago.”
