Margot Leitman’s latest book, What’s Your Story? A Workbook for the Storyteller in All of Us, is filled with brainstorming ideas for developing fully fleshed-out stories — whether you want to give a memorable toast, nail a business presentation or perform onstage.
A leading expert in the growing field of storytelling, Margot is a five-time winner of The MothStorySLAM. As the Moth GrandSLAM winner in New York, she achieved the series’ first score of a perfect 10. She is the founder of the storytelling program at the UCB Theatre, where she has performed in dozens of shows over the years and is a frequent monologist at its flagship show “Asssscat.”
This is her third book. What’s Your Story? is a complement to the hit storytelling guide, Long Story Short. She’s also published a comedic memoir, Gawky…Tales of an Extra Long Awkward Phase.
Margot, who travels all over the world as speaker, storyteller and teacher, has written for NBC, DreamWorks TV, the Hallmark Channel, the PixL Network and a variety of print and online sources, including Cosmo and Backstage Magazine. In 2016 she worked as the West coast story scout for This American Life.
